This two tier princess tiara cake was covered in pink and
lavender marshmallow fondant and decorated with heart,
butterfly and flower shaped fondant cutouts. The roses were
made of gumpaste and painted with pink and silver pearl dust.
The tiara was also made of gumpaste. The cutouts on the tiara
were made with small fondant cutters and once dry the tiara
was airbrushed in silver.
This princess castle cake was made with the Wilton castle cake
pan. The frosting was a decorator icing that holds its shape
well as it dries.
This two tier Tinkerbell cake was made with heart shaped cake
pans, frosted in pink and covered in pink, purple and lime
green fondant cutouts. The cake topper is a small Tinkerbell
doll from a toy store.
This Indiana Jones lego cake was covered in marshmallow
fondant and airbrushed in brown and green. The ball was from
an Indiana Jones cake topper set. Indiana Jones himself was
made from fondant (molded by hand) as were his whip and the
2 snakes. His face and the snakes eyes were drawn on with
black edible marker. The blue and yellow lego blocks were
made from rice krispie treats covered in fondant.
This Buzz Lightyear cake was covered in marshmallow fondant
and decorated with purple fondant stars and edible glitter in
turquoise, purple and black. The moon was a large styrofoam
ball covered in fondant, indented with small circles and painted
with white pearl dust. The characters were small toys.
This Blues Clues cake was made with the Wilton Blues Clues
cake pan and frosted with decorator icing. The frosting was
tinted using the Wilton Blues Clues icing color set which
ensured the colors were as accurate as possible.
This Lightning McQueen Cars cake was made with the Wilton
Cars cake pan and frosted with decorator icing. The frosting
was tinted using the Wilton Cars icing color set which ensured
the colors were as accurate as possible. Because this
particular pan is not that large, the Lightning McQueen cake
was placed on top of a large sheet cake decorated to look like
a desert road and blue sky with puffy white clouds (the clouds
were made with a large round icing tip).
This Spiderman cake was covered in red fondant decorated
with blue and black fondant circles. The spider web was piped
on in black frosting and the spiders were made using a
chocolate mold filled with melted candy melts tinted with black
food coloring. Spiderman toys were used as cake toppers.
This two tier Star Wars cake was covered in homemade purple
marshmallow fondant and decorated with star and circle
cutouts in black and white that were dusted with silver luster
dust. The Yoda, Anakin and Mace Windu characters were
made from fondant as were the light sabers. The characters
were made a week ahead of time and were attached with tooth
picks and royal icing.
